Zina was born in Montreal to a Canadian mother and father from Haiti. From an early age, she was making and listening to music, singing Gospel at Church, all the while growing into a great vocalist and in turn, a talented singer and songwriter. She credits an extensive range of musicians as having an influence on her sound, from Elle Fitzgerald , Celine Dion , Mariah Carey , Jacques Brel , Michael Jackson to Nina Simone and Whitney Houston.
